About Our Chapter

Aspiring, Loyal, Spirited

The Iota Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi joined the UNF Greek community in Fall 2015. Since our colonization and installation ceremony, our members have made an impact by introducing our values to the UNF campus, participating in other Greek fundraisers, showing spirit for our Osprey sports teams and supporting the Jacksonville community at large.

Throughout it all, we empower each other. Being a part of a sisterhood means there’s always someone to cheer you on, give you a shoulder to cry on, push you in the right direction or hold your hand when you need it the most. Our dedication to one another is what sets us apart -- remaining loyal and true to one another and our fraternity.

Alpha Phi International

It's Not Four Years, It's A Lifetime...

Alpha Phi’s uniqueness is rooted in the spirit of innovation originated by Alpha Phi’s 10 founders in 1872. As they made history as the first female students on campus, several decided that they were not satisfied with merely participating in the classroom. Denied admission to the men’s fraternities, our founders chose to create their own fraternity for women. Alpha Phi was founded before the word "sorority" was coined, which is why we are called Alpha Phi International Fraternity.

The founders of Alpha Phi were women whose innovative leadership and organizational practices set the spirit for the Alpha Phi of the present -- a sisterhood that values the past, embraces the present and looks forward to the future.

Alpha Phi is one of the largest women's fraternal organizations in the world. Today, there are 170+ active collegiate chapters in both the United States and Canada and countless alumnae networks around the world. The Fraternity has more than 250,000 initiated members, including legislators, CEOs, entrepreneurs, Olympic athletes, authors and entertainers. Find out more about Alpha Phi International.
